John(Benjamin,5 Benjamin,4 Benjamin,3 Philip,2 Philip1), b. at Canton, Aug. 4, 1828; m. Mary Gertrude, dau. of David Niles and Mary Sheldon Hyde, Jan. 20, 1868. She was b. Dec. 17, 1850. He went to California with his brother Marcellus in 1849; went to Boise City, Idaho Territory, in 1864, and was appointed Treasurer of the Territory in 1872. He resides at Boise City.
