1. Hilton Huntoon (Philip4, Nathaniel3, John2, Philip1) was born May 10, 1786 in Unity, NH, and died June 26, 1867 in Barnard, Vt.  He married (1) Martha Brown  September 10, 1810. She was born August 8, 1785 in Bridgewater, Vt., and died January 3, 1836 in Barnard, Vt.. He married (2) Lydia Dunbar Hathaway1835.  She died October 26, 1886.

Notes for Hilton Huntoon:

Hilton Huntoon's homestead was on the Bridgewater-Barnard town line, in an area remote from main roads.   This accounts for the reason records are variously found in either town, and perhaps accounts for why there is no record of Hilton Huntoon  or other Huntoons in either town for the 1840 census.

" Cyrus was born Oct 3, 1826 and died Oct 5, 1904, Bridgewater. Lucinda and Cyyrus lived in the Notown section of Stockbridge VT in 1853 and lived there for more than 20 years. Sometime between 1872 and 1876 they moved to Bridgewater. Lucinda had red hair and was inclined to be heavy. One day Cyrus , Lucinda and their grandson Albert Edwin Adams were invited to Sunday dinner at a neighbors house down the mountain a ways. They had planned to walk down the mountain but the weather  turned icy and walking was hazardous. Cyrus and Albert could probably have walked it but Lucinda was a problem, Cyrus solved it by hitching the oxen to a stone boat and placing a kitchen chair on the stone boat and thus the three went to dinner.   Much of the information is taken from Cyrus's journal beginning in 1853".
