(data added from various sources by Harry Huntoon) 1. Hilton Huntoon (Philip4, Nathaniel3, John2, Philip1) was born May 10, 1786 in Unity, NH, and died June 26, 1867 in Barnard, Vt. He married (1) Martha Brown September 10, 1810. She was born August 8, 1785 in Bridgewater, Vt., and died January 3, 1836 in Barnard, Vt.. He married (2) Lydia Dunbar Hathaway1835. She died October 26, 1886. Notes for Hilton Huntoon: Hilton Huntoon's homestead was on the Bridgewater-Barnard town line, in an area remote from main roads. This accounts for the reason records are variously found in either town, and perhaps accounts for why there is no record of Hilton Huntoon or other Huntoons in either town for the 1840 census. An 1869 school district map of Bridgewater VT - Dist No. __ (probably 4 -with no schoolhouse). Two homes on the map "H. Huntoon Est." and "G. Huntoon" . The "Est." is in line with Hilton's death in 1867. G. Huntoon was his son. Listed in Census 1830 Bridgewater VT. Listed with family: VT1850 Census at Barnard, Windsor Co. Huntoon (living Blue Island IL). Contains b. and d. dates for Hilton and Patty. Elsewhere in papers is fact that they lived in Bridgewater VT and ended up in Barnard VT (both Windsor Co). Vt. Vital Statistics-Hilton Huntoon died 6-26-1867 age 81. Buried So. Barnard Cemetary Vt.
